- Stroock, Alan Maxwells
- (1907-85)American lawyer, son of Solomon Marcuse Stroock. He started his career as a law clerk to Supreme Court Justice Benjamin Cardozo (1934-6), then joined the Stroock family legal firm Stroock and Stroock, where he became a partner. He served as chairman of the board and later president of the corporation of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York, and was al so active in various other Jewish organizations.
